Suki Kembel was born on Treaty 4 land, growing up with her family who have all danced and contributed to the FadaDance community. Suki began her journey in contemporary dance at the age of 3 and over her 12 years at Fada continues to fall in love with dance. Growing up with such innovation and artistry motivated her to further her dance training at age 7 with the addition of technique class, which only got her more hooked.
In 2021, Suki joined The FadaDance Youth Company. With the company she has performed and participated in the most recent youth company projects; Holloway & Rivulets (2023), Arrivals/Departures (2022), You Go, We Go (2021), and Waiting On Better Days (2021)
Suki has danced in numerous FadaDance year-end recitals including; Botanicum (2023), May It Happen (2022), Park Performances (2021), Something About The Music (2019), Form (2018), Micro Macro (2017), and countless others, all charting back to 2011 where Suki first danced on stage in Ric Rac & Nic Nacs.
Throughout the 2022-23 FadaDance sessions, Suki has worked as a teacher assistant, supporting children ages 5-7 as they begin to explore dance. Her interest in teaching children sprouted from the desire to give back to a community that has done so much for her. Suki is also a Balfour Arts Collective student and a member of her high school’s choir, where she dives further into arts and explores a variety of dance, drama, and music. Suki’s deep passion for dance is driving her to pursue a post secondary study of contemporary dance upon graduation from high school.
